“well guys that was guatemala what’d you think” that’s what gus said one night as my team and i began to pack our bags preparing to leave for africa. i think that sums it up well, that was that, the beginning came just as fast as it’s end. God undeniably worked during my time in guatemala, in both myself and the squad, and it was such a fruitful time, but also quite possibly the fastest season of my life. regardless guatemala was beautiful, full of smiling people who, yet having so little give so much. somehow the single mom of three with dirt floors insisted on serving us. because of their need they easily hang onto the hope of Christ with their physical needs they inherit an awareness of their spiritual need aswell. whether they try to fill it through catholicism, christianity, or one of the other mayan religions they recognize a lack and pursue the fulfilment. i was not prepared however re-entering the states even though i am only here for a short time the contrast was blatantly apparent. we have it figured out, we are the filler of our own needs, our idolatry is to ourselves, it’s all about you. without the lack of need physically comes the false satisfaction of the spirit, i left the country with the same outlook. the sickness the american church contains sent me to the nations carrying it and in the ironical way God works as i went to help and heal the sick I was also healed from this self centered view alright talk to you later going to africa real quick
