I am writing this at 11 pm, tomorrow morning we will be leaving Gainesville Georgia and heading to New Orleans where we will be working with Samaritans Purse for hurricane relief. I am kinda sad about leaving my tent in the woods but also excited for what God has in store for us at SP. My life here in Gainesville I hope has set me up well for life on the field. SP is just a 2 week ministry opportunity followed by less than a week back here and off to Costa Rica! As I have lived in a tent God has taught me the lies the enemy tells me, how to love him and those around me the way he intended, how to walk in faith of what he is doing, obedience out of love rather than obligation, and many other life altering revelations. Through the two rain storms we’ve had here and the water that soaked through the bottom of my tent God has taught that I’m not as big of an optimist as I thought. He’s taught me how to spend time with him and how to walk in humility in everything. $15,800 was a steal to have the experience I already have. I would have paid double that out of my pocket had I known what God had in store. His wisdom, love, forgiveness and faithfulness are truly priceless qualities of God. It hasn’t all been the most pleasant times, I struggled with some very real spiritual warfare and had to remember to turn to God. The devil doesn’t like what God’s doing here for his kingdom and wants it to stop, but I can’t stop and won’t stop. Can’t wait to see what he does at SP and I’ll keep everyone updated.
